This Masterclass will feature performances of works by Castello and Dowland on recorders, lute and harpsichord. Italian harpsichordist and conductor Alberto Busettini will coach several of the ensembles from the harpsichord bench. This class is by invitation only for performers, but seats are available for auditors.
Italian harpsichordist Alberto Busettini is Maestro di Sala for Early and Baroque Music at Tetro La Fenice in Venice. He performs regularly as both a soloist and as an ensemble player in Italy and around Europe, often on precious harpsichords from European collections. Aberfoyle Baroque is proud to present Maestro Busettini as he coaches his first masterclass in the United States.
Works to be performed at this masterclass include the following:
Dario Castello (c. 1590 - c. 1658) Sonata Prima a sopran solo from Libro Secondo
Castello Sonata Concertata for two soprano recorders
John Dowland (1563 - 1626) My Lord Willoughby's Welcome Home for two lutes (performed on lute and harpsichord)
