Jory Vinikour proved once again that he is an artist of exceptional note when he performed at Aberfoyle Baroque’s Special Concert on Friday, January 29, 2016. The program included a selection of works from his Weil Hall, Carnegie Hall, performance of last December.
Jory began the evening with a stately rendition of John Bull’s Lord Lumley’s Pavan and Galliard and followed this with a spirited interpretation of Bull’s The King’s Hunt. The virtuosity and beauty he brought to the four Domenico Scarlatti Sonatas he performed thrilled the audience, many of whom stood to better view his performance. The Concert was rounded out with Bach’s Italian Concerto, Louis Couperin’s Suite in C Major, and an absolutely stunning performance of Jean-Philippe Rameau’s Symphonie de pieces de clavecin. The thunderous applause which followed the performance garnered three encores – much to everyone’s delight!
Aberfoyle Baroque will be welcoming Jory back for its 2016-2017 season; look out for our postings as seats are limited and many will be wanting to hear this amazing artist!
